The University of Liverpool’s Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering undertakes world class research.

The Department of Electrical Engineering & Electronic's Mass Spectrometry Group focuses on implementation and optimisation of portable mass spectrometer systems for medical and other applications. The research team offers expert analysis and protocol design right through to method and instrumentation development. The group has been responsible for developing new methods and techniques and the world's smallest mass spectrometer.

Sensor Solutions and Mass Spectrometry Analysis

The Research Group offers access to their equipment, technical expertise and/or consultancy services to help SMEs, Universities and Research Institutions with their R&D projects developing applications or processes that require or utilise mass spectrometric analysis. In addition to access to state-of-the-art equipment and know how the group can offer technical assistance for protocol and study design, method development, instrument design and fabrication, troubleshooting and data analysis.
The group is open to research grant co-operation, new collaborations and student sponsorship opportunities.
